I had the opportunity to visit Savannah just after the hotels started to reopen. We only spent one night in Savannah, and it was very quiet during our visit. Most of the stores were open but quite a few of the sites were closed. Nevertheless we went on a private tour which focused on Savannah during the Civil War. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable.
Unfortunately my favorite restaurant in Savannah, The Grey, was also closed during this visit. Instead we headed to the rooftop at our hotel, the Perry Lane Hotel, for a very good dinner while we watched the sunset over Savannah.
For your next visit to Savannah, consider staying at the sophisticated and contemporary Perry Lane Hotel. PLH has 160 rooms divided between two buildings and retains an intimate feel as a result. It is conveniently located in the middle of the historic district, walking distance to restaurants, shops, and sites. The big WOW factor at Perry Lane Hotel is its rooftop bar and pool! And to top it all off, not only do you get Virtuoso amenities here, you also get a few additional surprise perks too!
